Women’s Day gave us a chance to celebrate ALL women, for us, it was a moment to be grateful for the inspiration given to us by one woman.
We are so proud of our inspiring founder and sole proprietor of Signature Real Estate and Signature Spa, Romy Tarboton.
Romy grew up in Durban and semigrated to gorgeous Cape Town to become an alumnus of UCT with a degree in psychology.
Whilst studying, Romy worked at a Southern Suburbs estate agency as a Personal Assistant and there found her passion for property.
She decided to write what was then the Real Estate Board Exam and got offered a job straight away at an independent Hout Bay Agency. Romy, being their top performing agent, was soon headhunted and then worked with great success at Matt Mercer Real Estate for about 8 years just before that business was sold to a UK company. Years later she invited Matt to join her team.
Romy opened her own luxury boutique agency which eventually developed into Signature Real Estate. She has brokered several record-breaking sales and rentals on the Atlantic Seaboard and Constantia.
Last year Romy fulfilled another dream and opened what has proved to be a highly successful salon ‘Signature Spa’, with Suzi Burger.
The amazing synergy between luxury real estate clients and luxury spa clients has become yet another arrow in her already impressive networking arsenal.
We chatted with a long-time friend and colleague, Karen Williamson, about Romy.
Karen believes that Romy’s background in psychology brings with it the inspiration and motivation she sparks with all her staff, colleagues, clients, and family alike.
She is first and foremost a mentor with an admirable and natural entrepreneurial spirit.
Romy is also a mom to two adorable children, Harper and Harrison, all while running two successful businesses she still finds time to maintain amazing relationships with her husband, friends, staff, clients, and family.
She is a hands-on mom, aunty, wife, and friend.
These are only some of the many reasons why we continue to be inspired by her vision and outlook on life. Thank you for always being you Romy.
